What is the dosage and how should it be used?
Usually your doctor will prescribe an initial daily dose of 2.5 to 5 milligrams. Maintenance therapy usually ranges from 1.25 to 20 milligrams daily. Daily doses greater than 20 milligrams are not recommended.
In most cases, Micronase® is taken once a day, however, people taking more than 10 milligrams a day may respond better to twice-a-day dosing.
Take glyburide exactly as directed by your doctor. Never change your dose of glyburide without first talking to your doctor.
Take each dose with a full glass of water.
Glyburide is usually taken before breakfast or the first main meal if it is taken once a day, or before meals if it is taken multiple times each day. Follow your doctor's instructions.
It is important to take glyburide regularly to get the most benefit.
Your healthcare provider may recommend regular monitoring of blood sugar levels with blood or urine tests.
